– Medicines should be packed in hand luggage and stored in their original packaging. The packaging will show the names of the active ingredients, making it easier for customs and other authorities to identify what the medicine is. To be on the safe side, it is a good idea to take your regular medicines with you for at least a week beyond the need for the trip.

Some hotels offer accessible rooms. These rooms must always be booked separately, so please contact our sales service. Please note that the standard of accessible rooms in hotels does not always correspond to Finnish standards. The accessible rooms are rooms suitable for people with reduced mobility according to the destination’s own standards, and the hotel area is also suitable for people with reduced mobility to a certain extent. Not all hotel facilities may be wheelchair accessible, or the room may not be fully equipped for accessibility.

Further information on wheelchairs and other assistive devices is required in advance for the airline. When booking your journey, please include the dimensions (length, width, height, weight and, in the case of an electric wheelchair, battery details) of all your assistive devices. Child’s guardians’ permission for holiday travel
When a minor child is travelling abroad without a guardian, it is advisable to take a guardians’ permission with them, which can be presented to the authorities in the country of destination if necessary. Under Finnish law, if a child is in the joint custody of his or her parents, they decide jointly on all the child’s affairs and one of the guardians (or any other person) is not entitled to take the child abroad without the consent of the other guardian(s). Finnish law does not contain specific provisions on how consent should be expressed. However, it is worth noting that even if it is possible to leave Finland, the authorities of another country may require written consent at the border.

Even if there are no specific requirements, it is always a good idea to have the written consent of the guardians. In these situations, the guardian(s) may draw up the consent document themselves. The consent can be in the language of the host country or in English. The letter should include details of the trip and the signature and contact details of the guardians.

If there is a hotel tax/air tax, which is usually around €0.5-10 per room per night, it is paid directly to the hotel in cash or by card at check-in or check-out. This tax is generally applied in Mediterranean destinations.

– The hotel’s opening hours are usually around 15:00, until which time the rooms can be cleaned. If you arrive in the morning or at midday, you may have to wait for your room to be available.

– On the day of departure, rooms are usually handed over by 12 noon.

– Payments for any additional services purchased from the hotel should be made to the hotel reception desk the night before if you are leaving early in the morning.

– Many international hotels charge a deposit by credit card or cash in advance for any additional charges (e.g. minibar, room service, etc.). If you do not use the services, the deposit will be refunded at the end of your stay.

Rooms are cleaned 2-6 times/week depending on the hotel. Cleaning is often superficial. Towels are usually changed 1-3 times/week. (In many hotels, towels are only changed when they are left on the floor.) Sheets are changed when guests change or once a week. If cleaning is done 2 times a week, the first cleaning day is usually the day of arrival. In apartment hotels, holiday apartments and bungalows with kitchen/kitchenette, kitchen equipment does not include dishwashing utensils and kitchen linen. In apartments, the washing up is not included in the cleaning service and is the responsibility of the guest.

Towels and sheets are not changed daily to save water and climate.

You can do your bit to help save energy and water while on holiday, for example by turning off lights and air conditioning when you are not in your hotel room. Use the same towel and sleep on the same sheets several times, just like at home. If you buy bottled water, prefer larger packs to small individual plastic bottles.

Please note that the services provided by the destinations and hotels may differ from those indicated at the beginning and end of the tourist season, and possibly due to the prevailing situation. For example, some hotels may only have air conditioning during the summer months and may have limited restaurant services, activities and programmes. In addition, water parks in the destination may open/close depending on weather conditions and some restaurants and shops may not be open at the beginning and end of the season. During the early and late season, especially in Mediterranean resorts, the evenings and nights can be cool.

Ants and various harmless beetles and cockroaches are common in many countries and can be found even in the best hotels.

You might see dogs and cats running free or roosters wagging, especially in Mediterranean resorts. If there are any uninvited animals in your room, please inform your guide.

Mosquito repellents are a good way to protect yourself from mosquito bites. If you know you are sensitive to mosquito bites, it is a good idea to take mosquito repellent with you when you arrive in Finland.

In most resorts, mosquito repellent is sold in pharmacies and markets.

During charter flights, you will be assisted by Finnish-speaking Aventours guides.
– During your holiday, you will meet your guide at the airport, at hotel meetings and on excursions.
– You can also always contact the guides on the spot by phone.

If you are not satisfied with anything during your trip, please contact our destination staff so that they can help you and try to correct any mistakes.

Please note that a passenger may not claim an error after the trip unless he or she notifies the organiser of the error within a reasonable time of discovering it. According to the General Conditions of Package Travel, the notice of the error/problem should be made to the tour operator’s representative during the trip so that the problems and deficiencies can be corrected during the holiday.

Aventours flight+hotel tours are self-catering without guide services. If Aventours services such as guided tours and/or excursions are available at the destination, they can be purchased by the customer.

– During charter flights, we organise Finnish-language tours at the destination and sell international tours.
– For detailed information about the excursions, please contact our guides at the destination.
