Kos is the second largest island in the Dodecanese after Rhodes. Like Rhodes, Kos is one of the sunniest destinations in Greece due to its southern location and the summer season here lasts well into October.
Kos is known as an island for active holidaymakers, and one of its special features is its exceptionally good cycling facilities. Cycling is a priority on Kos and is reflected in the network of cycle paths in the town. It is very common to rent a bike for the whole holiday and to cycle to nearby beaches such as the fine sandy Tigaki, a 10 km ride from the town. Kos offers a wide variety of beach activities all over the island. The beaches in the town area are well maintained and services are available on the beach chairs. The town’s most popular beach area is called Lambi, a short walk from the town centre.
Kosi is well connected to the neighbouring island of Kalymnos and the boat trip takes only half an hour. You can make a day trip to Kalymnos and many people also go overnight to explore this beautiful island.
