Over the years, Mallorca has maintained its popularity as a holiday destination for Finns and Europeans alike. Mallorca was the first destination to which package holidays were organised from Finland. In recent years, Mallorca in particular has made a comeback as one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Mediterranean. After all, the island is also the summer holiday destination of the Spanish royal family.
Mallorca has a lot to offer the holidaymaker. You can spend a day on the beaches or by the pool, exploring the sights of the capital or taking in the island’s scenery by car. For the active holidaymaker, there is plenty to do on the island; hiking, cycling, water sports, etc. For the nightlife enthusiast, there is plenty to do, not to mention the island’s culinary delights.
Mallorca is the largest island in Spain and is part of the Balearic Islands, along with Menorca and Ibiza. Its capital is Palma de Mallorca. The island is famous for its Majorica pearls, and those products are on the shopping list of many holidaymakers. Palma’s cathedral is a stately sight from the beach and the harbour is home to a succession of magnificent yachts. The best shopping is also to be found in the capital. Mallorca is the perfect place for a weekend city break in Palma or a family sun holiday in some of the island’s popular resorts.

In the evening, the destinations radiate positive energy and offer countless opportunities for an evening out for everyone – a quiet and atmospheric evening of wine and conversation or a heady night out in the nightclubs until dawn. There are bars, clubs and discos to suit all tastes, budgets and ages.
Note that Spanish nightlife starts late (many clubs don’t open until 11pm). Dress is casual and there is a wide range of styles.
The city of Palma offers plenty of shopping opportunities. There are shops and boutiques along several streets in the city centre. Several international and Spanish fashion brands are represented with shops. Mallorca Fashion Outlet is located 10 minutes drive from Palma in the direction of Inca.
